Hello Vaultwarden team,

I tried to install the latest version of Vaultwarden on my Synology NAS, but it does not load properly — I only see the logo and a loading spinner.

I have tested the previous version, which works fine with both HTTP and HTTPS. However, when I try to use the Chrome extension, I get the message: “KDF config required”.

I checked some advice online (including ChatGPT), which suggested using the latest version. Could you please guide me on:

How to properly configure self-hosting for Vaultwarden?

Can I use https://192.168.1.X:843, or do I need a proper domain name? If a domain is required, what is the correct setup procedure?

I have already tried using Let’s Encrypt and a reverse proxy, but it did not work. This might be because all my tests were done using the previous Vaultwarden version.

Thank you very much for your guidance!

Best regards,
[Mr Queffelec
