Explain in detail what your suggested feature would be used for.
A toggle for disabling the visual indicator would allow to remove a visual distraction of the red for for the users who don't need this indicator.

Describe how it would look if it requires a UI.
There can be a toggle in settings for enabling / disabling this dot indicator completely.

Explain why people would want to use it.
Option to disable the red dot completely would allow to remove a visual distraction for users who are not requiring this functionality.

It would still allow to be aware of the things related to what's happening right now (with the existing popup desktop notifications). But without the necessity to open notifications to make the red dot go away all the time.

Also the current behavior can be bothersome as in the game you say get an invite request. You react to it in-game. It doesn't need further attention. But the red dot on VRCX icon asks for the attention as you need to get to the notifications to make it disappear for these past events you already reacted to.

Also I'm a member of a lot of groups, and getting a lot of notifications. I like that I can view them in VRCX, but they are not that important for me in general. Red dot attracts my attention and incentivize me to look into notifications, but I don't want to do it.
