Explain in detail what your suggested feature would be used for.
This feature would allow users to choose how text is truncated in the sidebar when space is limited. Previously, the sidebar would first omit less essential parts—such as group names and tag numbers—from the end of the entry, preserving the room name for better readability. In the current version, truncation starts from the room name itself when the sidebar width is insufficient, making it difficult to identify which room a friend is in. Restoring the previous truncation logic or providing a toggle to switch between truncation methods would greatly improve sidebar usability.

Describe how it would look if it requires a UI.
If implemented as a toggle, a small setting could be added under Settings → Appearance → Sidebar, with an option labeled something like:

"Prioritize room name visibility in sidebar truncation"
When enabled, the sidebar would truncate text from the end (group names/tags first) instead of from the room name. No major UI changes would be needed—only an adjustment to the text truncation logic.

Explain why people would want to use it.
Users rely on the sidebar to quickly see which rooms their friends are in. With the current truncation behavior, room names are cut off, making it hard to distinguish between different rooms at a glance. This disrupts the user experience, especially for those have a lot of friends. Restoring the previous behavior or making it configurable would allow users to easily identify rooms and improve navigation efficiency.
