Hi, I think this sentence needs a few changes.

.icons (which has a new PhotoGIMP icon) > .local/share/icons (which has a new PhotoGIMP icon)
.local (which contains the personalized .desktop file) > .local/share/applications (which contains the personalized .desktop file)
