I’d like to propose an enhancement: could PhotoGIMP be packaged as a standalone Flatpak application?

Currently, the manual installation process involves overwriting configuration files in .config and .local. While effective, this approach can be cumbersome and prone to errors, especially for less technical users. Given that GIMP is available as a Flatpak on Flathub, a standalone PhotoGIMP Flatpak could streamline the installation process, keep things tidier, and make it easier for users to switch between standard GIMP and PhotoGIMP setups.

Benefits of a standalone Flatpak package could include:
Cleaner installation and maintenance.
Avoiding conflicts with existing configurations.
Leveraging Flatpak's sandboxing to keep the application self-contained.

I understand that maintaining an additional package would require resources and effort, but it could significantly improve accessibility for users.
