Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.1 & 2.3.2

Operating System (OS)

Windows, Linux

OS Version

N/A

Additional system information

N/A (not performance related)
issue has been present on both Windows 10, 11, and linux installs.

Printer

Sovol SV06

How to reproduce

  1. open orca slicer
  2. setup your printer (sv06)
  3. have Generic petg, generic petg hf or esun petg selected
  4. go to edit filament to inspect volumetric flow rate.
  5. flow rate is set to 20mm/s
  6. slice project + try printing at speed.

Actual results

  1. open orca slicer
  2. setup you printer
  3. have Generic petg, generic petg hf or esun petg selected
  4. go to edit filament to inspect volumetric flow rate.
  5. flow rate is set to 20mm/s
  6. slice project + try printing at speed.
  7. result: weak and underextruded print
actual result become more noticeable when adjusting the machine movement speed and acceleration to above default

Expected results

  1. open orca slicer
  2. setup you printer
  3. have Generic petg, generic petg hf or esun petg selected
  4. go to edit filament to inspect volumetric flow rate.
  5. flow rate is set to 12mm/s

on default hardware, 20mm/s results in severe under extrusion, weak prints and some failures.

as well as the print photo, have previously tested on a Volumetric speed test. Max is 12- 13mm/s on a new 0.4mm nozzle. Unsure if this issue may affect other printer profiles. I'd add this myself if i could work out how. (not a coder, new to github)
