Is there an existing issue for this feature request?

  • I have searched the existing issues

I get really nice extrusion but with differently "dense" or filled print layers the volumetric speed of the outline wall differs, this shows in the wall surface quality, especially with petg.

Which printers will be beneficial to this feature?

Klipper

Describe the solution you'd like

Setting for "consistent outline volumetric speed" maybe even with a toggle to how far the volumetric speed can differ, maybe also a setting for transition between different speed layers would help to not get sharp changes of surface quality.

Edit: Maybe there is the possibility to keep the layertime consistent, just slow down the infill on those layers and speed up the hull or vice versa to get an even outer shell speed, probably with the option for all walls to be consistent for perfect outer shells.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  1. lowering the volumetric speed to the lowest value in a first calculation (this influences all features, also infill which can go faster)
  2. design changes for as evenly filled layers (not always possible)
