Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2-beta2

Operating System (OS)

Windows

OS Version

Windows 11

Additional system information

No response

Printer

Bambu Lab X1E

How to reproduce

Renamed OrcaSlicer directory in %appdata%.
Uninstalled OrcaSlicer.
Installed OrcaSlicer.
Launch OrcaSlicer 2.3.2-beta2.

Check box for Bambu Lab X1E from Printer Selection in Setup Wizard upon first run.
Select All Filament types from Vendor Generic and Bambu Lab.
Do not enable Stealth mode.
Check box to Install Bambu network plug-in.

Plugin downloads and message shows 'Installed successfully'.

Choose New Project.
I do not log in to bambu account at this time.
OrcaSlicer works fine. Add handy model of orca cube, slices fine. Print is an option, but no printers available to select. X out of Send print job window.

Click the Home tab button.
Click Login / Register.
Select Log into existing account, and choose account.

Synchronization popup asks to synchronize data from Bambu Cloud.
No selected.
Return to Prepare tab.
Click Print Plate button.
No printers initially shown, but refresh button causes all five X1Es in the list.
X out of this window to return to Prepare tab.

Go to Home tab.
Log out of account.
Click Login / Register.
Log into same account as before.

Synchronization popup asks to synchronize data from Bambu Cloud.
Yes selected.
Popup shows 'Loading user preset' over about 2 minutes. Once progress bar reaches 100% the "Unhandled unknown exception; termination the application." popup occurs.
Clicking OK to this popup causes OrcaSlicer to crash to desktop.

Re-Launching OrcaSlicer
Popup for previous unsaved items have been detected... comes up. After not choosing yes or no, about 30 seconds later, the "Unhandled unknown exception; terminating the application." popup occurs.

If I don't click the OK, I can buggedly interact with Orcaslicer. The printer bed shows up, but is extremely unresponsive (about 1 frame every 10 seconds). Lots of inputs don't appear to do anything visually, but if you open the preferences menu and close it, the changes show up - like swapping tabs, clicking print plate, etc.

Two of the profiles I created are in the drop-down, but several others are not. I can choose these profiles while in the bugged state. Switching to the non-bambu printer profile does not affect the bugged state. I can send to the other printer's Octoprint instance in this state.

If I restart OrcaSlicer and immediately log out, OrcaSlicer acts completely normal, but without any of the profiles or access to the X1Es.

Actual results

Expected results

Should be able to use OrcaSlicer without crashing.

Anything else?

I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the custom profiles being pulled from BL's profile.

I re-installed 2.3.1 after renaming the OrcaSlicer directory in %appdata%

Did the same options for install, and logged in. No errors, and the other profile showed up fine:
