Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2 Beta 2

Operating System (OS)

Windows

OS Version

Win 11

Additional system information

N/A

Printer

X1C (also happens on others)

How to reproduce

  • Have a print with layer times higher than the min speed threshold.
  • Note fan speeds varying while layer times are outside of that threshold.

Actual results

Expected results

Given no layers of this print are 20 seconds or shorter, the fan should remain at 10%, and it certainly should not be climbing upwards of 40%.

For this print I'd have to drop the min speed layer time to nearly 12 seconds just to get the fan to remain at 10% for layer times over 20 seconds.

Setting both thresholds to 10% forces the print to be uniformly 10%, but that defeats the purpose of the threshold min/max feature.

Checklist of files to include

  • Project file

Anything else?

  • This does not appear the same as https://github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer/issues/7980, as it's not a matter of interpolating between the layer times - we are well outside of the layer time range.
  • This seems to be a recent issue as I have not run into this on similar prints in the past, where fan speeds were ramping when expected.
