Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.1

Operating System (OS)

macOS

OS Version

26.3

Additional system information

Macbook Air M4 2025
16GB RAM

Printer

Creality Ender-3 0.4 nozzle

How to reproduce

To ensure easy reproduction, I'm just using some system default settings, but I'm sure the issue will exist with different printers, filaments, processes, etc.

  1. Start a new project.
  2. Choose system preset printer "Creality Ender-3 0.4 nozzle".
  3. Choose system preset filament "Generic PLA".
  4. Choose system preset process "0.20mm Standard @Creality Ender3".
  5. From "Calibration" menu, choose "Temperature".
  6. I used "PLA" with start 225°C, end 190°C.
  7. Observe the text "Orca" is shown on every level of the print.
  8. Click "Slice all".
  9. Observe the text "Orca" is missing on three levels of the print.

Actual results

The word "Orca" is missing on three test levels of the print.

Expected results

Option 1: The word "Orca" should be visible on every test level of the print.

However, if this issue is just a natural and unavoidable part of the slicing (my theory is the text height sort of just gets lined up with the 0.2mm layer height and gets lost in the gaps) then I'd ask if the text is an important part of the test.

Option 2: If the text being visible is not actually an important part of the temperature test, then I'd recommend removing it completely, as it causes confusion (for a great many test prints, I thought the missing text was a sign of that temperature causing problems).
