Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2-beta2

Operating System (OS)

Windows

OS Version

Windows 11

Additional system information

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3D
RAM: 64GB DDR5 6000
GPU: RTX 5070 Ti

Printer

Bambu Lab X1 Carbom

How to reproduce

  1. Open a project file or create a new one (in this instance I created a new one)

  2. Go to the Device menu at the top and open it

  3. Look at the multi material/AMS filament types

  4. select "Generic PLA"

  5. It appears as "ABS" and the print file will refuse to print due to it thinking the incorrect filament is inserted.

Image

Actual results

Orca Slicer sets the plastic type to "ABS" instead of the selected "Generic PLA" filament type.

Image

Expected results

The filament type in Orca Slicer should be properly set as indicated by the filament type label.

Project file & Debug log uploads

Project file:
Component tester case cover v4.zip
Log file:

Anything else?

This issue has occurred without changing any settings, moving from Orca Slicer verion 2.3.1 to 2.3.2-beta2.

I only print with PLA 99% of the time, and I have never printed ABS at all. It automatically changes the displayed/recognized filament to display "ABS" when "Generic PLA" is selected. in the attached gif, it shows "Generic PLA High Speed" appears as PLA, but "Generic PLA" appears as "ABS". This happens by default, I have 2 AMS systems connected.

This seems to be able to be temporarily mitigated by selecting "Generic PLA High Speed", as that is properly recognized as PLA.
