Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2beta1+hotfix

Operating System (OS)

macOS

OS Version

14.7.6

Additional system information

CPU: M2 Max (MacBook Pro 16" - 2023)
RAM: 64GB
GPU: 38 Core Apple

Printer

BambuLab H2D

How to reproduce

This has usually, but not always, happened with the following.

  1. Open a project with a multipart or split or assembled (aka merged) model? (Not sure about this, some complex models do not invoke this when I believe they are technically multipart)
  2. Enter Object mode (not Global in Process settings).
  3. EITHER cut the object; OR move with the move tool a part of the object...
  4. then try to undo (command-z).
  5. also try redo (command-y).

For reproducible (by me) example use the attached project file and interact with the object on Plate 09 !

Actual results

App instance hangs for many seconds, the length varies, not sure what it's based on.

Expected results

The move / cut undo action is smooth and takes about a second, with no hang / beachball, except for a slight lag in the main UI of orca.

Project file & Debug log uploads

debug_Tue_Feb_24_19_37_30_86325.log.0.zip

Straight-tack_20cm Smaller Pieces - ORCA.3mf.zip

Checklist of files to include

  • Log file
  • Project file

Anything else?

UPDATE: Also affects REDO

For reproducible (by me) example use the attached project file and interact with the object on Plate 09 !

The same projects appear to be affected or unaffected between launches.
I believe I have seen that this is not exclusive to premade / shared .3mf files, but also to new orca files. Can't remember which project at the moment, so I have uploaded one originally from makerworld.

This also does not appear to be related to the complexity of the model's mesh, nor to the number of plates in the project, nor to the file size of the model(s)/project.
