Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2-dev

Operating System (OS)

Linux

OS Version

Debian 13

Additional system information

KDE and Wayland in use for desktop environment
Kernel: 6.12.48+deb13-amd64
GPU: RTX 5070
Nvidia Driver: 580.95.05
System memory: 64GB (4x16GB)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X

Printer

Bambu P1S

How to reproduce

  1. Download latest nightly build
  2. Click on device tab to allow printer to connect
  3. Switch back to prepare tab
  4. Click on sync button in top right on the printer section
  5. click continue to sync filaments
  6. Click OK if prompted about unknown or incompatible filaments mapped to generic preset

Actual results

System starts to become unresponsive/laggy. orca-slicer UI refuses to close unless killed with kill -9 PID command over ssh due to how laggy the desktop session becomes

If using the v2.3.2-rc AppImage build then you get to a different dialog and when i click on the option to overwrite current filaments and click ok, i get the same freeze and system unresponsiveness.

Expected results

Filaments get synced

Anything else?

Tested with:
RC: ORCaSlicer_Linux_AppImage_Ubuntu2404_V2.3.2-RC.AppImage
Nightly: b908bab904

I'm using the Ubuntu 2404 AppImage on Debian 13 as that has forked for me in the past.
This didn't happen until i upgraded today, sadly I dont know what the exact old version was. I'll see if i can find what version works
