Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2-rc2 AppImage

Operating System (OS)

Linux

OS Version

Fedora Linux 43

Additional system information

No response

Printer

Creality K1 w/CFS

How to reproduce

There are several cases where the pop up dialog boxes do not accept text input. The most common (and reproducible) case I see is after I push the print button, but I've also seen it when I've attempted to change the color of the filament.

  1. Hit the print button
  2. The dialog box shows up and I notice that sometimes the entire filename (include .gcode) is highlighted. (See below) in this case I don't think I've ever been able to edit the filename. Other times only the prefix is highlighted and in those cases it's probably 50/50 if I can edit the name.
  3. Try editing the name or use the mouse to select the text in the box and it doesn't work.
  4. If I can't edit the text, I can click the cancel button and repeat the process until I get a dialog that works.

Actual results

My only option at this point is to close the dialog and try again.

Expected results

I should have been able to edit the text field.

Project file & Debug log uploads

It is not crashing and it happens with virtually all my project files.

Checklist of files to include

  • Log file
  • Project file

Anything else?

I was having a lot more problems with 2.3.1, both the text problem and cases where the screen would update sporadically or not at all. I eventually tried 2.3.2-rc2 to see if the problem had been resolved and it has been much better. My Linux system has installed system updates between those times so I'm not sure if it was actually 2.3.2 or the OS that made the improvements, but I still routinely run into trouble with dialog boxes.
