I have searched the existing issues

Is there an existing feature to remap filament by layer? I saw there is a remap filament tool under painting in the latest release but that one just seems to substitute the filament for the entire object.

I would like to change the extruder 0 to extruder 2 for a certain layer range in an already multi object/multicolor print. In this situation the preview layer slider right click menu doesn't have the change filament option and I just want to use another already loaded extruder instead of actually swapping the filament in the printer.

Which printers will be beneficial to this feature?
