Is there an existing issue for this feature request?

  • I have searched the existing issues

The issue is the overly conservative support generation. Creating too much of material around critical and fragile areas, often leading to broken parts. This issue is not present in PrusaSlicer, see the example below (the tree support parameters are the same) :

In the Orca version you can the see foot almost "submerged" with support whereas Prusa is just supporting what's needed, same the ankles of the miniature.

OrcaSlicer has a strong miniature printing community, and BambuLab users can't really use PrusaSlicer.
I think solving this issue would be really beneficial for the whole community

Environment

  • Printer: Bambu Lab A1
  • OrcaSlicer version: OrcaSlicer v2.3.1 Official Release
  • Support type: Tree (Organic)

Which printers will be beneficial to this feature?

All

Describe the solution you'd like

Adding a kind of "No Guardrails" in the Support -> Style. Adding a generation algorithm similar to the one of PrusaSlicer. Like mentioned in the Issue#1750.

Describe alternatives you've considered

No response
