Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.3.2-dev git #f57d0d1442

Operating System (OS)

Linux

OS Version

Ubuntu 25.10

Additional system information

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor, 48GB RAM, AMD Radeon RX 7600

Printer

Voron 2.4 250mm / StealthChanger

How to reproduce

Load attached project in 2.3.2-dev
Preview / slice plate
Note estimated time is massively negative
Export G-code
Note move after 'T1' toolchange is to G1 X159162337707183618625116307456.000 Y112.486 F21000, which at 21m/min will take several years.

Revert to 2.3.1 AppImage from the github releases page
Load attached project in 2.3.1
Preview / slice plate
Note estimated time is 3 minutes
Export G-code
Note move after 'T1' toolchange is to G1 X44.020 Y112.486 F21000
That is even on the bed still :D

Actual results

post-slicing UI shows a massively negative value for print time. exported Gcode shows G1 X moves in the kilometres

Expected results

post-slicing UI shows a 2-4 minute print time. exported Gcode shows G1 X moves between -2 and +252 mm

Anything else?

So here we go.. (Background: Separate to this issue I am seeing a large number of crash-to-desktop with OrcaSlicer 2.3.1 AppImage as downloaded from github; so I figured to debug that, I would build from sources. So I have 2.3.2-dev locally compiled from github (#f57d0d1442, as noted). So far my locally built AppImage is not showing as many crash-to-desktop, which is nice, but I have a new issue instead; and that leads me to here.)

Single-colour / single tool prints slice Just Fine, but as noted above, when I set a project to change tools, the first move after a tool-change is huge, clearly an illegal value from somewhere. version 2.3.1 is fine. And I managed to slim my demonstration case down to a new project and just adding 5mm cubes, so not even any stl required. Neat. So I can attach all the files and the zips are small

Looking at the config block embedded in the gcode, I do see a bunch of changed parameters between 2.3.1 and 2.3.2; which leads me to believe this is probably entirely user error - if anyone has any suggestions for a setting to change to make it go away, I will take that too!

I am lurking on the Discord if that is easier/useful
