Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

v2.3.1 (Also tried nightly & v2.3.0)

Operating System (OS)

Linux

OS Version

Arch Linux x86_64 (kernel 6.17.9-arch1-1)

Additional system information

Host: Acer Swift SFA16-41
Kernel: Linux 6.17.9-arch1-1
Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.5.4
Windows Manager: KWin (Wayland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 6800U (16) @ 4.77 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 680M (Integrated)
Memory: 16GB LPDDR4X On-board

I do notice that OrcaSlicer is running in XWayland mode. I can not get it to run on Wayland no matter how.

Printer

Anycubid Kobra S1

How to reproduce

  1. Start OrcaSlicer.
  2. Go to the "Prepare" tab.
  3. Look at the XYZ indicator.
  4. Click on the Text tool.
  5. Look at the dialog.
  6. Slice plate.
  7. Look at the info panel.

Actual results

The floating UI elements (XYZ Indicator, Dialogs, Tooltips, Info Panels) render as black rectangles.

Anything else?

I have tried the AppImage, flatpak or even self-compiled OrcaSlicer. All with the same results.
I do notice that OrcaSlicer is running in XWayland mode. However, I can not get it to run on Wayland no matter how.

I've also tried switching to a light theme, but the issue still persists.

Interestingly, the Anycubic Slicer, which is a fork of OrcaSlicer, functions correctly on this same system without these issues.
