Is there an existing issue for this problem?

  • I have searched the existing issues

OrcaSlicer Version

2.2.0

Operating System (OS)

Windows

OS Version

Windows 10

Additional system information

No response

Printer

Bambu Lab A1

How to reproduce

  1. Set up any print with support structure
  2. Adjust the brim-object gap setting under Others > Brim > Brim-object gap

Actual results

The gap between the first layer of the support material is governed by brim-object gap, as if it's meant to be a brim that connects directly to the main print

Expected results

Brims should connect to the print according to the brim-object gap setting, but it should be possible to configure support structure to maintain a small distance from the print while also having connected brim material.

I usually want brim material to connect and adhere the print to the printing surface, but I never want the support structure to fuse to the print except for the specifically required interface point.

Project file & Debug log uploads
