It would be helpful to be able to accept a self-signed certificate for an internal IMAP connection. Some applications implement this as "accept certificate" or "ignore ssl errors" tickbox.

Is there a way around this currently?

This would be needed to back up email from Proton Bridge by Proton Mail. As It runs a local IMAP server to decrypt emails on their system and provide locally using a self-signed certificate. In thunderbird, you must allow the cert.
